This instruction movie deals with all the practical aspects of the Continuous Subgluteal Block.
It starts off with a discussion of the rationale, indications, contra-indications and dangers of
the block, and then discusses the pharmaceutical choices, followed by the actual performance of
the block, demonstrated on a live model. The positioning of the patient, surface anatomy
landmarks, needle entry, depth and direction, and nerve stimulator management are discussed in
detail. The accurate catheter placement, tunneling, management and removal techniques are also
discussed in great detail. The stimulating catheter technique is used. The movie is fully narrated.
