Identifying the sciatic nerve at the sub-gluteal level with u/s
Here is a link to a recent publication in Acta Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica.
The authors described the consistent identification of the sciatic nerve using an hyperechoic structure along the medial border of the biceps femoris muscle. However, they only looked at lean patients. Not sure how easy it would be to identify in our high BMI patients.
